HAPPENINGS OF 1981....

AHA....1981.....SUMMER
I remember it to be the year of many memorable happenings....AT ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD... Be it Chennai...Mumbai....London....America........this was the summer I boarded the Bombay Mail not knowing that I am gonna meet my Best Pal for the rest of my life most talked by all members of our extended families. My boarding that train for summer was not exactly for fun as i was searching for my soul......i lost. Little did i know..i would find a loving ear to hear my broken heart's cry for love.
The World and city of London was getting ready for the most exciting love story of beautiful Princess Diana with Prince Charles.

First Meeting

My best pal came to me in the year 1981. It was summer vacation and she traveled to Mumbai to spend the summer with her aunt and cousins. Strangely enough it was my summer vacation too but I was not traveling. All I did was spend time with my neighbor's kids. As I rang the door bell, an unfamiliar face opened the door. Two long plaits , but with an infectious smile. I was puzzled , when I got introduced "This is Lata , my niece from Chennai" I said "Hi" and soon learned we were of the same age and got "talking".

Our first conversation lasted for four hours over the phone, and we are still "talking"

Randomly, wondering what that means
We didn't know each other at all, we were total strangers, didn't go to school together, didn't live in the same city, didn't live in the same apartments, didn't go to college together, didn't, didn't, didn't ........
Then how did we become best pals
